Location
- The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The Hawaiian Islands are a chain of eight major island and are about 1,900 miles from the nearest continent. The Hawaiian Islands form the US state of Hawaii and take its name from the largest island in the cluster.
- Oahu, known as “The Gathering Place”, is the most populous of the islands. The state capital, Honolulu, is located on Oahu. The Kapi`olani Culinary Arts Program, on the Kapi`olani Community College campus, is located at the base of Diamond Head Crater and a short mile from renown Waikiki Beach on the Island of Oahu. The communities of Kaimuki, Kahala, Waikiki, Kapahulu, and Waialae all border the College campus and provide a variety of safe and reasonably priced housing options for our students.
- Our faculty and students represent a diverse mix of race and culture. The Kapi`olani Culinary Arts Program is noted for its international and East-West emphasis. The state of Hawaii and the island of Oahu truly express a unique sense of place.
